Man wanted in 10 murders, crony slain in ‘shoot-out’ with cops
Montego Bay, St James – Two men, one of whom was a top ranking member of the notorious Bone Crusher gang and who was being sought by the police in connection with 10 murders – including a double and triple killing – were on Sunday shot and killed in an alleged shoot-out with the police.
The dead men have been identified as Delano Williams, alias Bigga Crime, 22, and Roy McLennon, 20, both of Norwood, St James. A Colt AR15 A2 rifle and 45 rounds of 5.56mm catridges were also recovered at the scene of the shooting.
Williams was said to be a member of the infamous Stone Crusher gang, which is allegedly involved in the upsurge of gun-related violence that has led to several deaths in the second city.
Corporal Peter Salkey, the Constabulary Communication Network’s (CCN) liaison officer for St James, said that about 11:45 Sunday night, a police party was on a special operation in the Glendevon community, when on reaching the main road they saw a Toyota Corolla motor car, registered #5853 ER, heading in the opposite direction.
Four men allegedly alighted from the vehicle, opening fire on the police who signalled them to stop, it was reported. The lawmen reportedly returned the fire and the two men were found nursing gunshot wounds after the shooting subsided.
Williams was found clutching a Colt AR15 A2 rifle, serial number SP248769, with a magazine containing thirty-two 5.56mm cartridges, the police said. Twelve of these cartridges were also found in the stock of the weapon, and one found in Williams’ pants pocket, the police reported.
The magazine found in the rifle has a capacity of 50 rounds, the police said.
A number of 5.56mm and 9mm spent shells were found on the scene.
The police gave the identity of the other two men who escaped as Cedric Murray, alias Doggie, of Glendevon and Michael Forbes, alias Lassie and Diego.
Two containers with gasolene, hacksaw blades, a jack hammer and machetes were found in the car, according to the police.
The coaster bus in which the police were travelling was badly damaged by gunshots during the alleged shoot-out.
In the meantime, the police have linked Williams to the gruesome triple killing of brothers Senel, 40, and Derrick Taylor, 45, both of Felicity Road, Montego Bay and Senel’s girlfriend Ireasha, a freezone worker, who is also an entertainer of Rose Heights in St James. The three were all shot in their heads at the brothers’ home on Felicity Road, which is notoriously known as ‘Blood Lane’.
The cops have also connected Williams with the murder of Nicholas ‘Frostman’ Rose, who was shot and killed on Felicity Road 10 days after the triple killing.
Williams was known to frequent the Sun Valley Road, Glendevon and Norwood communities of Montego Bay, and was also wanted for shooting at members of the security forces on two other occasions, the police said.
The police also fingered Williams as the man in the recent killing of a Montego Bay couple, whose burnt remains were found in a burnt out car last March in bushes off the Ironshore main road.
The couple, Hercent James Richards, 36, and her common-law husband Dwight Gray, 35, were abducted from their home at night on March 18 by five armed men.
