Cops capture ‘Nunu Puss’
‘NUNU Puss’, the man on top of the police’s most wanted list, was held in Kingston yesterday.
Wanted for several crimes, including the murders of Inspector Lascelles Walsh from the Motorised Traffic Division and District Constable Canute Brown, ‘Nunu Puss’, whose real name is Christopher Miller, was held during a police operation on Cassia Park Road, located off Red Hills Road.
Detective Constable Jason Powell of the Half-Way-Tree Police Station said that at approximately 4:15 pm yesterday, police officers from the St Andrew North Division were conducting an operation in Cassia Park when they received information that ‘Nunu Puss’ was sitting in a bar nearby. He was subsequently apprehended by the officers and taken to the Half-Way-Tree Police Station for questioning. Three men who were in his company were held for questioning.
On May 3 last year Inspector Walsh and District Constable Brown were two of the three policemen killed in the space of five hours after gunmen killed Corporal Hewitt Chandler of the Protective Services Division.
Brown was killed during an attack on the Cross Roads Police Station, while Walshwas shot dead at a traffic light on Port Royal Street, downtown Kingston.
Police said ‘Nunu Puss’ was also wanted for the murder of a former Guardsman security guard, who was killed along Marcus Garvey Drive last year, as well as several robberies and shootings.
