Adams’ US visa also cancelled
SENIOR Superintendent Reneto Adams yesterday confirmed that the United States Embassy had cancelled his non-immigrant visa. “I went to the United States Embassy this (yesterday) morning to find out if in fact they had cancelled my US visa because I was not informed about the cancellation.
The first time I heard of it was on the commercial radio on Wednesday, when an officer there told me that my visa was revoked,” Adams told the Observer. He said although he asked for a reason for the revocation, he was not supplied with one.
Adams also confirmed that the Canadian authorities have revoked his wife’s non-immigrant visa to that country.
“The revocation of the US visa where I am concerned is very, very unimportant to me. I have a US visa for 25 years and I have only went there once, while I was in transit to another country.
Five members of the disbanded Crime Management Unit, who, like Adams were acquitted last December of the murder of four people in Crawle, Clarendon, also complained Wednesday that their US visas were cancelled.
They said they were being punished, although they were set free by the Jamaican High Court.
