Police to release names of Norwood suspects today
MONTEGO BAY, St James – Assistant Commissioner of police in charge of area one Keith ‘Trinity’ Gardener said last night that the police will today release the names of five suspects believed to be involved in Tuesday’s brutal slaying of five people in the inner city community of Norwood, St James.
“The names of five suspects have been obtained and they will be released at a press conference sometime tomorrow,” Gardener said, shortly after emerging from a top level meeting with Deputy Commissioner of police in charge of crime, Mark Shields and other members of the police hierarchy.
He added that at today’s press conference the police would also announce several initiatives that will be taken to stem the bloodshed in the community and to reassure the residents about their safety.
“The strategies will include increased security presence in the area; the dislocation of the gangs and relentless pursuit of the thugs,” ACP Gardener said.
The five Norwood residents -Patrick Roy Anderson, 43; Natalie Ferguson,28; Linda Malcolm, 57; Michael Montaque Snr and Micheal Montaque Jr – were killed when gunmen invaded their homes in a pre-dawn attack and launched a vicious attack on them.
