Elderly man hit from pedal cycle, dies
AN elderly pedal cyclist died yesterday in a hit and run accident on Olympic Gardens in Kingston 11.
The police reported that Abraham Jones, 65, was riding his bicycle along Olympic Way towards Seaward Drive when he was hit by a motor car travelling in the opposite direction.
Jones, who sustained multiple injuries, was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the motor car sped away following the accident.
The police yesterday asked that anyone who may have witnessed or know of any person with information that can help in locating the driver of the vehicle involved to contact the Hunts Bay Police Station at 923-7111 or call police control at 119.
