J’can wanted in UK since 1995 held in Kingston
A Jamaican man who is wanted in the United Kingdom on a murder charge was yesterday apprehended by members of the constabulary’s Fugitive Apprehension Team in Duhaney Park, Kingston 20.
The man, Delroy Washington Lynch, 45, otherwise called “Noel Carl Michael Armstrong” of Milton Avenue, Duhaney Park, was held during an early morning operation.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN), the police’s information arm, said Lynch was wanted for the murder of 20-year-old Zoe Samantha Lynch, who was allegedly stabbed to death on August 17, 1995 at Victoria Drive, Clapham, South West England.
The two, the CCN said, were reportedly at a house when a dispute developed between them. During the argument the young woman allegedly received a stab wound. She was taken to hospital where she died. Lynch, said the CCN, fled to Jamaica where he has been hiding until his apprehension.
He is scheduled to appear in the Corporate Area Criminal Court today.
