One killed, four injured in Bodles crash
A man was killed and four other persons in a motor vehicle collision on the Bodles main road in St Catherine early yesterday morning.
The dead man was identified as Augustus Sutherland, 42, of Sandy Bay in Clarendon, while injured were:
. David Haynes, 35;
. Floyd Duncan, 36, both of Longville Park in Clarendon;
. Earl McDonald, 44, of Old Harbour Bay, St Catherine; and
. Winston Newland, whose address was not ascertained.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN), the police’s information arm, reported that about 5:45 am a Toyota Corolla motor car, driven by Haynes, was travelling along the Bodles main road towards Spanish Tow when it was involved in a collision with another Toyota Corolla, driven by Sutherland, who had three passengers in his vehicle.
The occupants in both vehicles, the CCN said, sustained injuries and were taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where Sutherland was pronounced dead and the others were admitted in serious condition.
