Roads in Hanover being repaired to the tune of $13 m
GREEN ISLAND, Hanover – The National Works Agency (NWA) is rehabilitating and patching the Riley to Glasgow and Glasgow to Green Island roads in Hanover to the tune of $13 million.
According to NWA’s community relations officer for the western region, Janel Ricketts, the work will include the reconstruction of drains, base improvement and re-paving of sections of the road surfaces.
Ricketts said the NWA would also be targeting 15 roads for patching at a cost of $5 million.
The NWA recently completed work on the 3.1 kilometer stretch of roadway from Green Island to Silver Spring. The work was completed at a cost of $20 million, and was undertaken under the agency’s Special Flood Damage Programme. Ricketts said, the project formed part of the agency’s thrust to improve road conditions in the parish.
