Two dead, eight injured in Montpelier accident
MONTPELIER, St James – Two people – a teenage girl, about 15 years old, and a man believed to be about 26 – were killed yesterday when the Nissan Sunny motor car in which they were travelling collided with a minibus along the Montpelier main road
Up to press time last night, the police had not yet ascertained the identities of the two persons or the eight others hospitalised, including the drivers of the Nissan Sunny and the minibus.
The Ramble Police said that at approximately 5:00 pm the car which was travelling toward Montego Bay collided with the minibus headed out of the town.
The two died on the spot, while the injured were taken to hospital where they were admitted.
The Montpelier road has been the scene of several accidents this year involving minibuses which ply the Savanna-la-Mar to Montego Bay route.
