South Avenue will be closed this weekend

THE National Works Agency will be closing South Avenue, starting today, to facilitate re-paving of the roadway.

South Avenue is located between Waterloo and Constant Spring Road.

The agency said the roadway will be closed from 11:00 pm Friday night to 6:00 am Saturday and from 1:00 pm on Saturday to 6:00 pm Sunday.

Motorists are advised to use the alternative routes: West Kings House Road onto Constant Spring Road and Upper Waterloo Road onto Shortwood Road. Motorists may also use Hope Road onto Constant Spring Road or Hagley Park Road.

The NWA is also urging motorists to obey flag persons as well as posted warning signs.
