NWA closes section of Banbury main road
THE National Works Agency yesterday closed a section of the Banbury main road in St Catherine, in the vicinity of the new bridge being constructed to replace the existing structure that spans the Rio Magno.
“The road will be closed for six weeks in order to facilitate construction of the approach roads to the bridge,” the agency said in a statement Thursday.
The alternative route for motorists travelling to Banbury is through Victoria, while motorists travelling to Wakefield were advised to travel through Bog Walk onto Jue Pen.
Pedestrians were advised not to use the Banbury roadway in the vicinity of the new bridge, as falling rocks caused by the excavation work could pose some danger.
