Zacca confirmed as PSOJ president
A smiling Chris Zacca arriving yesterday at the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) headquarters in Kingston for the final meeting to select a president for that organisation. Zacca, who eventually became the sole contender for the post held by Beverly Lopez, was later confirmed president.
The second contender, Scotiabank’s William Clarke, pulled out of the race last month and removed his bank from PSOJ membership. Yesterday, Zacca told the Observer that he would do everything possible to unite the organisation so that it spoke with one voice.
Zacca added that he intends to immediately initiate talks with the Jamaica Manufacturers association and the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce (JCC). “I regret the fact that Scotiabank had pulled out of the PSOJ, but as long as I am president, the door will be wide open for the bank’s return.”
