Spare a thought for the less fortunate, say leaders
The nation’s leaders have urged Jamaicans to spare a thought for the less fortunate and extend God’s love to the poor, the sick, senior citizens and children throughout Christmas.
In separate Christmas messages, Governor General Professor Kenneth Hall, Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller and Opposition Leader Bruce Golding all appealed to the country to share the true spirit of Christmas with their fellow Jamaicans and to give thanks to God.
Following are the full texts of their messages.
