Police seize illegal gun in Belfield district
SPANISH Town Police Tuesday confiscated an illegal gun in Belfield district, Browns Hall St Catherine. No one was arrested.
The CCN’s liaison Officer for St Catherine North reported that between the hours of 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm, an operation was carried out in the Belfield community. During the exercise, an abandoned building was searched. A .22 semi-automatic pistol with an empty magazine was found.
Investigations continue.
St Thomas shopkeeper murdered
FOUR people were shot, one fatally, by gunmen at School Lane in Seafort, St Thomas on Tuesday.
Dead is Voniel McDonald, 26, while injured are two females, aged 29 and eight, of School Lane and a 17- year-old male of East Prospect, St Thomas.
Reports from the Constabulary Communication Network’s (CCN’s) liaison officer for St Thomas are that at about 7:50 pm, two gunmen went to a shop operated by McDonald where they opened fire, killing her on the spot. The other people who were in the vicinity were hit by bullets and were taken to hospital for treatment.
The Seafort police are investigating.
McQuarie resident dies from stab wound
FORTY-two-year-old Delvin Lindsay of McQuarie district, Hopewell, Hanover was fatally stabbed during a dispute with another man in the district yesterday.
Reports from the CCN’s liaison officer for Hanover are that about 1:45 am, Lindsay was involved in an argument with another man over a computer. During the altercation, a knife was used to stab him. He was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Hopewell police, who are investigating, are seeking Jesse Linton, 22, otherwise called “Mad Kid” for questioning in connection with the incident.
