Man shot, hospitalised after foiling robbery
A man was shot and injured on Padmore Drive, Kingston 10 on Thursday night after challenging two men who the police believe went on a robbery spree in that community.
Residents reported hearing gunshots at approximately 3:30 am and called the police. They subsequently learnt that the man, a licensed firearm holder, was trading bullets with the two men in a yard adjoining his.
An unconfirmed report said the man was injured in his right arm, torso and his right thigh. The criminals escaped.
On the arrival of the police, the man was rushed to hospital where he was admitted. Later Friday morning, the police also found in the yard, bags containing several items of clothing, DVDs and a DVD player, which were taken to the Half-Way-Tree Police Station.
The man is reported to be in serious but stable condition.
The Half-Way-Tree police are investigating.
