Body, human skulls found near May Pen Cemetery
FORENSIC tests are to be conducted on a decomposed body, three human skulls and bones, appearing to be human, which were found on Monday on land near the May Pen Cemetery in West Kingston.
Workmen laying sewage pipes made the gruesome discovery of the body during the course of their work and alerted the police who did a further search of the area and discovered the three skulls.
An on-the-spot autopsy revealed that the body may have been rotting for almost a month. The remains had what appeared to be a bullet wound, a police source said.
According to head of the Kingston West Police Division, Superintendent Delroy Hewitt, human remains have been found at the same spot in the past.
“This is not the first time that bodies have been found in that area it seems people are killed there regularly,” Hewitt told the Observer.
The police have in the past described the bushy spit of land as an area where persons were shot and killed and bodies dumped.
