Partial closure of Bog Walk Gorge
THE National Works Agency (NWA) will, as of today, be closing the Bog Walk Gorge in St Catherine on weekdays between the hours of 10:00 am and 3:00 pm to facilitate repair work. The closure will be in effect for two weeks.
Stephen Shaw, the NWA’s manager of communication and customer services, said the closure is to facilitate work on the road section between Flat Bridge and the Angels Plaza, through an $8-million contract with Pavement and Structures Limited.
Shaw said the work will include the removal of old asphalt from the roadway, repaving as well as the construction of shoulders.
Alternative routes during the periods of closure are the Sligoville and Barry main roads.
The NWA has asked motorists who use this roadway regularly to obey the instructions of the police and has posted warning signs while work is in progress.
