Contractor General’s report and Barbara Clarke
On January 17, we published an article in which we made a certain statement with regards to the award of contracts by the chairman of PETCOM, Ms Barbara Clarke, to a company in which she is the main shareholder and attributed that statement to a report by the contractor-general. The article stated that it was the chairman who increased the awards to her own company when the report made no such allegation. Further, as we had noted elsewhere in that article, Ms Clarke had declared her business interest in May of 2005.
We apologise for this error and for any interpretation which could have been placed on those words which may have caused embarrassment to Ms Clarke or any other party.
