St Aloysius students get grooming lessons
Grade 1Y students of St Aloysius Primary School in downtown Kingston recently got a hands-on learning experience in personal grooming from members of the community, parents and volunteers.
Hairdressers, a barber and a manicurist participated in the lesson, which saw students getting their hair washed, combed and, in the case of the boys, cut. Some students also got their nails groomed.
“I believe all members of society should give some form of community service within schools, based on their area of expertise,” said St Aloysius teacher Nicolette McDonnough-Foster.
She thanked Colgate Palmolive and the Fish Eye Clinic for contributing to the lesson, and praised the involvement of parents, past students and members of the community in which the school is located.
