Children’s Advocate investigates Kgn family
THE Office of the Children’s Advocate is investigating the living conditions of the three children whose father used them to block a section of Red Hills Road last Tuesday after his son, 29-year-old Derrick Watson, was shot dead by the police.
“We are undertaking an investigation because such children could be children in need of care and protection,” Children’s Advocate Mary Clarke, told the Observer last night. “I have sent an investigator to the home to find out what is happening there,” she added.
Clarke said she has also requested a copy of the tape that was broadcast by TVJ, which she intends to use at a meeting to be held to discuss the matter.
Additionally, Clarke said her office would also be consulting with the police and relevant authorities to determine whether legal action should be taken against the parents.
