PAC hopes to wrap up Whitehouse probe by end of March
After close to six months of painstaking investigations into the US$43-million cost overrun on the Sandals Whitehouse project, the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament yesterday announced its intention to wrap up deliberations by the end of March.
In the meantime, further sittings have been adjourned until the sixth of March, to allow for a draft report on the results of the probe so far to be prepared.
Still to appear before the committee for the final time in March are the Urban Development Corporation, Gorstew/Sandals and Ashtrom Consultants Limited to clear up matters raised in previous meetings.
The committee, in the meantime, decided yesterday that any further questions to be addressed to former head of the Urban Development Corporation Dr Vincent Lawrence and head of Nevalco Consultants Limited Alston Stewart would be forwarded in writing.
