‘Cornwall kickers’ suspended
MONTEGO BAY, St James – Three students of Montego Bay’s all-boys school Cornwall College have been suspended for participating in a kicking game which took an ugly turn last week.
According to the rules of the game, participants must rush to get to a specified base after their names are called. Failure to get there on time results in a kicking from the other participants.
Sources close to the school told the Observer that on failing to get to his base, one of the participants was kicked to the point where he had to be taken to a hospital. He was among the three suspended.
School officials could not be contacted for comment yesterday.
A parent of another suspended student told the Observer on Saturday that the incident had severely traumatised her family. The suspension will last for 10 days.
