Reach Falls reopens today
THE Urban Development Corporation (UDC) will today re-open Reach Falls in Portland, following the completion of interim upgrading work at the attraction.
The interim works, according to the UDC, included the upgrading of sanitary facilities, provision of temporary administrative and first aid offices and fencing of the property. The road leading to the attraction was also repaired.
The UDC said it would continue to upgrade the facility with the expansion of picnic areas, food and beverage and craft huts, creation of a river trail to diversify the product offering and the construction of additional sanitary facilities.
Upgrading work at Reach Falls, said the UDC, has been part of its mandate to enhance the tourism offering in the eastern end of the island and in line with Portland’s designation as a ‘green’ destination.
