Jamaica Producers cutting 20 jobs
TWENTY employees of Jamaica Producers Group will be out of a job on April 13 as part of the company’s restructuring, the firm said in a statement yesterday.
Jeffrey Hall, the group’s divisional director, said the positions that would be made redundant were distributed among senior and junior personnel.
The aim of the restructuring, the company said, is to merge its Serious Food Company, which includes its UK-based juice and chilled distribution businesses, with its Jamaica-based Producers Holdings, which runs the banana-related businesses, to form one holding company.
Additionally, administrative, accounting, property management and information technology services, which are currently provided to JP’s subsidiaries by the Kingston head office, will be absorbed into these units.
