Mount Rosser to open on Saturdays
THE National Works Agency has modified traffic changes that it implemented along the Mount Rosser to Faith’s Pen main road earlier this week.
According to the agency, beginning today, motorists will be allowed to use the roadway as no work will be done on Saturdays.
The agency had announced that the Ewarton to Faith’s Pen main road would be closed to vehicular traffic effective April 11 between the hours of 8:00 am and 3:00 pm each day for repairs, which include milling and repaving of the roadways with asphaltic concrete.
Yesterday, manager of communication and customer services at the agency, Stephen Shaw, said the modification was to facilitate economic activities along the corridor on Saturdays. As a result, the repair work will be extended from four weeks to five weeks.
Motorists, in the meantime, are being reminded that the alternative route for small vehicles heading from the direction of Moneague, is through Grierfield, Camperdown, Tydixton, Worthy Park and Ewarton.
“Motorists are advised to drive with caution, especially between Camperdown and Grierfield, as this section of the roadway is very narrow,” the NWA said in a release yesterday, advising that motorists obey the instructions of flag persons and posted warning signs.
