It was an error, says ministry
THE Ministry of Labour says Minister Derrick Kellier made an error when he told reporters Monday that only one person died in the September 2005 explosion at the Jamaica Public Service power plant in Old Harbour Bay.
“At the post-Cabinet press conference on Monday, April 23, 2007 the Honourable Derrick Kellier, Minister of Labour and Social Security indicated that one person died as a result of an accident at the Jamaica Public Service Old Harbour Power Station in September 2005. This was an inadvertent error,” the ministry said.
