Section of Howard Cooke Blvd closed for repairs to bridge
MONTEGO BAY, St James – The east-bound carriageway of the Howard Cooke Boulevard will be closed this weekend to facilitate repairs to the Montego Bay River Bridge by the National Works Agency (NWA).
The road will be closed at the Catherine Hall intersection, in the vicinity of the Catherine Hall Entertainment Complex, from 10:00 this morning to 5:00 tomorrow afternoon.
Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA Stephen Shaw says the repair work will be carried out on an expansion joint that has become loose, subsequently posing danger to motorists.
During the closure, the west-bound lane along the Howard Cooke Boulevard, between the Catherine Hall intersection and Bevin Avenue, will be used for both easterly and westerly traffic.
