Four injured in Ambrook Lane shootings
THERE was a tense calm in the troubled community of Ambrook Lane in St Andrew last night following the shooting and injury of four persons in the community in less than six hours between Monday night and dawn Tuesday.
The first shooting took place just before 10:00 on Monday night when a group of persons standing in the community were fired on by men travelling in a ‘dark-coloured’ motor car. Two men, aged 42 and 31, were shot and injured in the shooting. Both were taken to hospital where one was treated and the other admitted in serious, but stable condition.
Guns again barked at Ambrook Lane about 3:00 am yesterday, in which a 16-year-old boy and a 25-year-old man were shot.
The names of the injured were not released by
the police.
A source in the community alleged that the shootings were a reprisal for the murder of 20-year-old Dwight Senior, also called ‘Chicken’, who was shot dead in the area in May.
Chicken was gunned down while talking with a group of persons in the community on May 13. Police say a gunman approached and pumped several shots in his body, killing him on the spot.
