It’s back…

Thanks to popular demand, the Yabba has at last returned to Island Grill. “We worked assiduously to bring back the Yabba for one simple reason…our customers wanted it back,” says Sahran Walters, Island Grill’s marketing manager. And while it may look a little ‘healthier’ – read that to mean filled with a little more meat – it is still packed with the same homestyle flavours associated with the curry and fricasse chicken, served with a choice of pumpkin or callaloo rice, or their newest edition, rice and peas, at the economical price of JA$225.

“Initially, we decided to take the Yabba off the menu to fine-tune our operational processes, to ensure that we could offer a product of consistently high quality, and that we could produce enough to meet the high demand,” says Walters.

She explained to Thursday Food that the overwhelming demand for the Yabba when it was first introduced back in May, led to a reorganisation of the all-in-one-meal that would provide the customer more for their money.

Reintroduced just under a week ago on June 27, Walters explains that the response has been phenomenal. “It is now a permanent addition to the Island Grill menu,” Walters says, “and it shows no signs of slowing down.”
