JDF pilots walk away from crash with minor injuries
TWO Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) pilots were yesterday treated at hospital for injuries they received in a helicopter crash at the Polo Field at Up Park Camp.
Captains Andrew Spence and Omar Clarke were conducting training manoeuvres at approximately 1:30 pm when their Bell helicopter went down.
They were subsequently taken to the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) where they were treated for minor injuries.
In the meantime, investigations are being carried out to determine the cause of the crash.
The JDF was yesterday afternoon unable to say what the estimated cost of damages to the aircraft was and whether or not these damages were repairable.
