Cops increase security in Time and Patience
TIME AND PATIENCE, St Catherine – The Linstead police yesterday increased security in the once quiet district of Time and Patience, following an attempt yesterday to firebomb a house in the community.
The Linstead police said about 2:00 yesterday morning a resident of the community reported that he was awakened by the smell of gasoline and called the police. Persons who were planning to attack the house apparently ran on the approach of the police.
“This is the third incident in seven days (so) we have beefed up mobile patrols in the community to bring closure to these incidents,” said Inspector Norman McDonald of the Linstead Police Station.
Just last Saturday morning gunmen went to Time and Patience, shot Howard Noble, 40, in the head and chest, killing him on the spot. The armed men then kicked off the front door of the house and threw Molotov cocktails inside, which set the house ablaze. The charred remains of Henry McDonald, 74, was later found in the rubble by the fire brigade.
Three days later, the St Jude’s Free Gospel Mount Baptist Church, opposite Noble’s house, was firebombed.
