British Commission congratulates Jamaicans on hurricane bravery
THE British High Commission on Tuesday congratulated the Jamaican people for their courage in facing Hurricane Dean and at the same time announced that it was open for business.
“The British High Commission congratulates the Jamaican people for their courage during the hurricane and wishes the very best for Jamaica’s recovery,” it said in a brief press statement.
The High Commission advised the public that it was now resuming services at the visa and consular sections, although it warned there could be a delay in some services offered.
“The number to call the British High Commission is (876) 510 0700 and the British High Commission website www.britishhighcommission.gov.uk/jamaica provides detailed information on opening hours and telephone numbers for individual sections. The telephone numbers previously given out in the last few days are no longer in use,” the press statement said.
It said the Visa Application Centre would open yesterday, and directed the public to the website. www.visainforservices.com for more information.
