Police hunt for suspect in Tryall stabbing death
SANTA CRUZ, St Elizabeth – The St Elizabeth police are searching for a man alleged to have been involved in an altercation which led to the stabbing death of 26-year-old Rohan Dixon of the Tryall area of South East St Elizabeth on Tuesday morning.
Both police and residents say that shortly after 8:00 am Tuesday, a struggle developed between Dixon and Damion Stephenson who are said to have had a longstanding feud. A knife was allegedly used to stab Dixon several times. He was rushed to the Black River Hospital where he died.
The police claimed that Stephenson, also known as ‘Gabbydread’, fled the scene.
Reports from the Tryall community yesterday said some residents staged a roadside demonstration, urging the police to speed up their investigation and intensify their search for Stephenson.
