Nearly 20 main roads still inaccessible, says NWA
THE National Works Agency (NWA) says approximately 20 mains roads in six parishes were still inaccessible to vehicular traffic up until late yesterday.
The affected parishes are St Andrew, St Catherine, St Thomas, St Mary, Clarendon and Portland.
In St Andrew, a massive boulder is blocking the Parkes to Rock Hall main road while the Papine to Redlight main road, between New Castle and Red Light, is blocked by landslides.
The other main roads which the NWA said are still inaccessible are:

. Sports Park to Coast Road
. Sports Park to Troja
. The Bog Walk gorge leading to Flat Bridge
St Thomas
. Bachelor’s Hall to Spring Bank
. Belvedere to Hall Head
. Bethel Gap to Whiteford
. Hagley Gap
. Mount Sinai to Loop Road
. White Hall to Hillside
. Windor Forrest to Arntully
St Mary
. Border to Cuffy Gully
. Chovey to Claremont
Portland
. Cascade main road
Clarendon
. Nine Turn to Riches
Meanwhile, the agency said approximately 42 parochial roads in the six parishes are also inaccessible.
“The NWA is working to reopen most of the affected roads by Sunday, September 7, weather permitting,” the agency said in a release yesterday.
