ISSA boots Maldon
MONTEGO BAY, St James –
The number of teams taking part in the KFC/
ISSA Western Conference high school basketball competitions has been reduced by two following the disqualification of Maldon High and the withdrawal of St James High.
Maldon High was disqualified after it was found out they had not properly registered with the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) and all games will be forfeited the Observer West learned.
Maldon had won four of their seven games played in the Under-16 section and five of their nine games in the Under-19 division.
Meanwhile, St James High who struggled in both age groups withdrew both teams from the competition.
St James had lost all six games in the Under-16 and had won twice in the Under-19 from nine games.
The competition resumes this afternoon with three matches: Irwin vs Grange Hill at Irwin in Under-16 action while Muschett and Anchovy meet in an Under 16 game at the Montego Bay Cricket Club, starting at 1:00 pm.
Muschett and Herbert Morrison will meet in an Under-19 game at the Cricket Club at 3:00 pm.
