Protoje upbeat about career and upcoming concert
HOUSE Of Diggy recording artiste, Protoje, is feeling very pleased with the progress he has made with his career over the last six months. This year has been a good one for the talented young man who hails from the parish of St Elizabeth.
Since dropping his first official single, titled Arguments earlier this summer, his career has risen to new levels. This single introduced him to music lovers locally and across the globe and also made its way into the top ten of RE TV’s Top 20 Reggae Singles chart, its accompanying music video also enjoyed success on the charts having topped the RETV MVP chart and the TVJ FI WI Choice Top Ten music video chart for several weeks.
“Making a career in the music biz has been a steady process for me and I am very happy and grateful for all that is happening right now. I have been working on my music for the past seven years and am now looking forward to the release of my album next year and I am also looking forward to going on the road to promote it. I have put a lot into the making of the album and I hope people all over the world will appreciate it,” said Protoje when asked about his recent success and his soon to be released album.
Protoje is currently busy preparing for yet another chapter in his budding career. Over the last couple of months he has been busy completing his debut album which is tentatively titled, The Seven Year Itch. It is slated to be released early 2010 and will feature production work from himself, his cousin Donovan ‘Don Corleon’ Bennett, DJ Karim and House Of Diggy inhouse producer Chris Cooper.
However before his album is released Protoje will staging a special concert dubbed The Seven Year Wish, to celebrate his journey thus far in the music business. This event will feature Protoje along with other talented acts such as From the Deep, Jason Worton, Jah 9 and No-Maddz. The Seven Year Wish will also feature several special guest performers and will be held at Weekenz on Friday, December 4.
“There will be a lot of positive inspirational music and good vibes at The Seven Year Wish,” said Protoje.
The event will be filmed for the purpose of producing an official DVD to complement Protoje’s upcoming album. There will also be special Protoje merchandise on sale, along with a special edition Arguments CDs at the event.
