MERYL STREEP, BULLOCK kiss and make up over shared Best Actress award

People Post

First there was Madonna and Britney Spears, then there was Kate Moss and Jemima Khan  now Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock are the latest female celebrities to lock lips in public.

The pair, feted as two of Hollywood’s best known comic stars, were both named Best Actress at Friday night’s Critics’ Choice Movie Awards — Streep for her role as Julia Child in Julie and Julia, and Bullock for The Blind Side, to be released in the UK in March.

Each was given the chance to make an acceptance speech, but it was the moment in-between that had everyone talking, after they staged a mock rivalry. As Bullock took to the podium after Streep’s speech, she yelled: ‘This is bull***!’

The glamorous stars then proceeded to face up to one another in mock anger, before sharing a kiss on the lips. Afterwards, the Miss Congeniality actress, 45, told the audience: ‘Meryl’s a great kisser.’

On a more serious note, she added: ‘This is an honour. It is a great honour to be in the company of the extraordinary women I was so lucky to be nominated with, because this one here inspired me to do everything better.’

Whitney puts warmth above fashion

Whitney puts warmth above fashion Hiding behind a huge fur hood, it seems Whitney Houston has chosen to put warmth over fashion. The bizarre velvet robe would certainly have kept the chill out as the legendary singer arrived in Washington DC Friday night. Whitney’s face was barely visible behind the thick fur folds, as she peaked out to find her car. But after spotting the photographers the 46-year-old pulled back the hood and managed a smile. Whitney is currently attempting to launch her comeback after years away from the spotlight battling a drug addiction.

Twilight stars look for love nest…

Twilight star Robert Pattinson wants to buy a house on the Isle of Wight, where he plans to live with his girlfriend and costar Kristen Stewart. Notoriously shy Robert, 23, and Kristen, 19, have never spoken publicly about their relationship, but after a romantic New Year on the island they intend to buy a home there. ‘Rob is a reluctant star,’ says a mole. ‘He just wants a quiet English life, which is why he brought Kristen over for New Year.’

Zeta-Jones and Douglas pitch up back in the Big Apple

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas are to make New York their home. The couple, who have lived in Bermuda for the past five years, have recently been staying at their magnificent Manhattan penthouse while Catherine completes a three-month run on Broadway in A Little Night Music.

She has now decided she wants to make the city their permanent home, but Michael would prefer to return to Bermuda where he enjoys the golf scene. ‘Michael doesn’t like being in the public eye all the time in New York and it has made him quite tetchy,’ says a source. ‘He and Catherine have clashed over staying there. But she has a movie to promote soon so she’s happy to be where she’s visible.’
