Hitman heads East Kingston police most wanted list
THE Kingston East Police have named a suspected hitman at the top of their most wanted list. Police say Alva Campbell, also called ‘Doctor Lee’ or ‘Frank’, is a hired gun in at least three murders, including that of a woman, since 2008.
Campbell, the police say, is also wanted for abduction, and is alleged to be using a strong-arm tactic to capitalise on extortion rackets in his Jarrett Lane community and surrounding areas in Mountain View.
“He is believed to be a part of a gang operating in Jarrett Lane. He has never been arrested so we don’t know much about him. We are working with a photograph of him though,” Superintendent Michael Bailey, head of the division, told the Observer today.
Bailey declined to release Campbell’s picture to the media, but described him as being about five feet, eight inches tall, of dark complexion, medium built and wears a low haircut.
Also wanted by the police for murder are:
• Steve Dudley, also called ‘Stone’ of Johns Street, Kingston 16. He is about five feet, eight inches tall, of brown complexion, medium built, has a round face and wears dreadlocks.
• Andrew Beal, also called ‘Blacks’, of Park Lane. He is about 35 years old, of dark complexion, about five feet, nine inches tall, and has a gold tooth.
• Stafford Ross, also called ‘Flippa’, of Oliver Road. He is about five feet, nine inches tall, of dark complexion, medium built, and walks with a limp.
Police are also seeking Paul Waite, also called ‘Poppy’, of Rockfort; Damion Hammond, also called ‘Chanter’ of Bull Bay; ‘Rodman’ Randy of Jacques Road; and Bail Walters, also called ‘Bazz’, of Toby Gully for shooting, absconding bail, and larceny.
The cops have, however, confirmed that Vivian Stephenson, previously wanted for murder, was captured during an operation late last week.
