St James Netball Association name MVPs
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Former national junior representative Shadian Hemmings of champions Blazers and Tracey-Ann Peterkin of Ace were named the Most Valuable Players of the St James Netball Association’s awards ceremony held at the Montego Bay Cricket Club on Thursday.
The event was twinned with a forum where both aspirants for the post of president faced questions from delegates.
Clint Parkins, coach of Angels and Egland Richards are seeking to replace Winsome Barnes as head of the sporting body at the February 20 Annual General Meeting.
Crystal United’s Ladonna Lamonth took the award for the top scorer in the Senior League while Starlight Junior’s Aisha Paul took the Junior League award.
Blazers won the Senior league, beating Angels A in the finals while Twelve Star was third.
Starlight Juniors took the Junior League ahead of Ace and both will advance to the Intermediate League in the upcoming season while Blazers was third and Cornaldi Avenue fourth.
