Tax admin expands e-filing to include income tax payments
The Tax Administration on Monday expanded electronic filing of taxes by individuals and corporations to income tax payments.
In a release, the tax authority said that its online service now includes electronic options for paying and filing IT01, IT02 & IT07 — income tax forms.
“In addition to the filing and payment of income tax, individuals and self-employed persons are able to file Education Tax Return (ET01) and make payments for Education Tax and NIS via the internet,” said the release. This will be accommodated via the Jamaica Tax Portal (JTP) — www.jamaicatax-online.gov.jm.
Aside from avoiding lengthy lines at tax collectorates, other benefits to taxpayers using the electronic system include 24-hour access to filing, real-time validation of entered data and allows them to check account balances.
To access electronic filing, taxpayers at first have to manually register at a tax collectorate and get confirmation of registration.
Persons already registered for filing GCT/payroll deductions online, on the other hand, do not have to re-register.
