Former prison boss heading to PBCJ
GOVERNMENT yesterday confirmed that former prison boss June Spence-Jarrett will be moving to the Office of the Prime Minister.
However, while Daryl Vaz, the minister responsible for information, confirmed the move yesterday, he declined to say which agency of the OPM she would be placed.
But a reliable source said Spence-Jarrett will be assigned to the Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica (PBCJ), and not the Broadcasting Commission, as reported by the Observer yesterday.
In the meantime, the Broadcasting Commission, in a statement yesterday, said it had no knowledge of the transfer of Spence-Jarrett to that agency.
“… There has been no indication to the commission of any decision or stated intention to transfer any member of the public service onto the staff of the commission,” said Dr Hopeton Dunn, chairman of the commission.
