Perfectly Pretty Pastels
These days pastels aren’t very fashionable or popular, but Easter time is the perfect time that they can be; think delicately coloured eggs, pretty flowers and cute bunnies everywhere. If you are planning on a little Easter cheer, here are a few ideas for you to achieve this in your décor using egg cups:
1. Egg cups as vases: Make adorable floral arrangements by placing small bundles of flowers inside the egg cups. These are great for individual place settings at a dinner table, or arranged throughout the tablescape or around the house. Plain white egg cups can be bought inexpensively online and decorated any way you like, but if you can’t find egg cups, a great alternative is mini demitasse cups available at Azan’s Supercentre.
2. Egg cups as a centrepiece: Take the egg cup floral arrangement a step further by stacking cake plates in tiers or using a large decorative platter and then arranging the flowered egg cups on the tiers/platter to create a dramatic centrepiece.
3. Egg cups as votives: Eggshells made into candles and placed into egg cups make great candle votives. Another alternative is to simply place the tea lights into the egg cup to create a soft ambient glow at a dining table, side table or sideboard.
4. Egg cups just as fun displays for your decorated eggs: After all your efforts decorating eggs with the children, why not just display them in egg cups throughout the house?
5. Decorate and personalise egg cups: Use them to decorate now but have them forever, they’re the greatest way to encourage young kids to eat eggs because it just appears to them to be a novel way of eating their eggs.
Have fun with this one and have a Happy Easter.
