Season finale tonight for Digicel Deal or No Deal
After 27 weeks of intense competition, Digicel Deal or No Deal will come to an end tonight and what a season it was.
With over $3Million won and yet more to be won tonight, the show has been a tremendous success. Everybody has won something even if it was not that much. Digicel Deal or No Deal has given Jamaicans a chance to be a bit richer and in a lot of cases has done so.
For this the last of my columns for this season, I want to thank the sponsors such as Digicel, ATL, Wysinco, KFC, Pizza Hut, General Accident and the Jamaica Observer, without whom the show would not have been possible.
I also would like to thank the team who have toiled hard to ensure that a top class product is sent out to Jamaica on TVJ every Wednesday night; Tanya Taylor from Anyhoo Productions, Natalie Parboosingh, Sanjay Ramanand and all the camera men and production staff who worked hard to ensure the show was a success. Special thanks must also go out to Mike Hogan, head honcho at Newcom whose vision and determination ensured that all the pieces were in place to bring the show to Jamaica. And of course to my 26 natural Jamaican beauties, the best décor any TV show can have, your smiles brightened the set and warmed many a heart, including one as ‘cold’ as mine.
And finally I want to thank all the contestants who appeared on the show. You all were very interesting in your own way. Chris Martin was a star and brought a great level of excitement to the show. He also brought some spontaneity, breaking into song, surprising everyone. Chris there is a Grammy waiting for you in a few years.
There were also other contestants who brought their own brand of excitement to the show as well as some every interesting stories. Maree Sigurdson brought stories of her globe trotting ways and who can forget Richard Dean, father of Ananda Dean, Jacqueline Dehaney, Lamair Josephs and Jermaine Lindsay who won $475,000 — the most so far.
Tonight will be the final show in this the first season of Digicel Deal or No Deal and I hope Natesha Smith will take good aim at the $3Million still left in the vault.
I thoroughly enjoyed the show and I know many Jamaicans did too. Stay tuned for next season when I — The Banker — will return and so will the chance to win millions.
Cheers, au revoir and walk good!
