Wood Hall lead South Central U-20 group despite loss
LIONEL TOWN, Clarendon — High-flying Wood Hall FC suffered their first defeat in the South Central Confederation Under-20 competition — a 0-3 spanking by Tru-Juice at the Bybrook Oval on Sunday — but continue to hold a two-point lead in Group A.
Wood Hall, playing in the competition for the first time, dominated the first three rounds of the competition, beating Original Hazard 3-2, Naggo Head 3-1 and Downs FC 1-0 to sit atop the group on nine points — two clear of Naggo Head in second.
The North-Clarendon based team now needs one more victory to seal their place in the semi-finals.
In other round-four games played at the weekend, defending champions Monymusk FC ended 1-1 with newcomers Meadows FC (five points) at Monymusk Sports Club to lead Group B with six points from three games and now need a further three points to clinch a last-four berth.
At Naggo Head, the home team scored their second consecutive victory when they edged Original Hazard 1-0, while Bodles (four points) stopped Newlands 2-1 at Bodles, but are out of contention for a place in the semis, as they have completed their fixtures.
