Tifa, QQ to perform at Bigga Jamaica Oaks Race Day
The Bigga Jamaica Oaks Race Day will be enthralled in a tizzy of excitement when the BOOM After Races Concert entertain the crowds who will descend on the Caymanas Race Track come Saturday April 24. This is so because dancehall diva Tifa and the dynamic QQ will be taking the stage to end what is sure to be an excellent day at the tracks.
Also set to take the stage is finalist in the Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall competition Chozen. Joffia Johnson-Bell, Biggaís brand development executive, says that the after races concert will be “just the refreshing end to a wonderful day”.
“Tifa and QQ are two very energetic entertainers and will make sure that the patrons enjoy themselves. The concert is just a part of our entertainment package. This year, we’re bringing back our ‘gimmick race’ and we’ll have some giveaways for the audience as well,” Johnson-Bell said.
She also wishes to remind ladies that it is a day for hats. “We’re expecting all the ladies to come out in their fabulous hats as this is the day for it!” she said excitedly. “Bigga will also be giving the first 30 ladies who arrive at the track Bigga token hats, so it’s really going to be an exciting day at the tracks.”
The day’s proceedings will be emceed by media darling, Miss Kitty, who is also expected to add her own flavour and entertainment to the package.
The Bigga Jamaica Oaks Race Day is the day where only female horses (fillies) race at the tracks; and is also the occasion the Wisynco Group’s flagship brand, Bigga, will be using to honour some 12 women who have done well in their fields.
Speaking about the awards, Wisynco Group’s public relations, events and sponsorship manager, Kimberly Lawson, said that the company was particularly proud of the slate of women who are set to be honoured on Saturday with the Bigga High Achievers Award.
The 12 women are Andrea Coy, Andrea Wright, Senator Marlene Malahoo-Forte, Tina Myers-Matalon, Sharon Schroeter, Paula Anne Porter-Jones, Dahlia Harris, Kimala Bennett, Jessica Yap, Tara Payfair-Scott, Simone Forbes and Dr Carolyn Gomes.
“Our 12 high achievers will be celebrated and recognised for their hardwork and astonishing accomplishments in their respective fields. It is something that I am particularly proud of, and something Wisynco and Bigga are ecstatic about,” Lawson said.
With entertainment secure, races scheduled, and the slew of accomplished women to be honoured, the Bigga Jamaica Oaks Race Day is set to bring crowds and charm to the Caymanas Race Track on Saturday April 24.
