Golfers to tee off for Campion today
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Today a large field of local golfers — including national representatives Jodi Munn-Barrow, Jonathan Newnham, Robert Chin and Wayne Chai-Chong — are expected to tee off in Campion College’s 50th Anniversary Golf Tournament at Cayamanas Golf and Country Club.
The tournament, which is presented in association with PanCaribbean and sanctioned by the Jamaica Golf Association, has a two-ball better ball full handicap format and is expected to feature 48 men, ladies and mixed teams.
One lucky golfer could drive home the Hole in One Prize of a brand new Chevrolet Avalanche, compliments of Challenger Transport, while the Best Overall Individual Player will win a ticket on American Airlines to any US, Canada, Mexico or Caribbean destination.
Flow is also offering a special prize of a HD PVR box and one month free HD services in a match-up between Top Male Golfer of the Year, Jonathan Newnham (a Campion third form student), and the rest of the field for the closest to Hole No Three.
Other team and individual prizes include weekends at SuperClubs, Jakes and Sandals resorts; gourmet dining at Courtleigh Hotel, Strawberry Hill, Spanish Court Hotel, Hilton Kingston and Cannonball Cafe; rounds of golf at Half Moon, Sandals Upton and Caymanas; and many other special gifts from Appleton, Chukka Caribbean, Island Art, LIME, Gym Liguanea, Lascelles, JL Golf, System Integrators, WB Trophies, Intcomex, Jablum, Innovative Systems, Ramsons and Associated Manufacturers.
The tournament is a major fundraiser for the school’s development plan, the Vision 2020 Campaign, which has as its priority in the construction of Jamaica’s first library media centre.
