St Andrew, Alpha to meet for group honours
ST ANDREW High School and Alpha Academy maintained their 100 per cent win record as the second week of the ISSA/JHF Under-16 Schools League ended last Friday at Mona.
Both schools lead Zone A with nine points from three matches, ahead of Immaculate, three, with St Hugh’s and Mona yet to score.
Shanar White has maintained her incredible goalscoring form when she converted four in Alpha’s 6-0 drubbing of Immaculate on Thursday. Jhanell Johnson and Kenetta Howell added the others for Alpha.
White has now scored 12 goals from three matches and St Andrew will face her goalscoring prowess tomorrow in a top-of-the-table clash.
Demi Nicholson and Abigail Lumsden rapped in a goal Thursday for St Andrew to blank Mona 2-0. Nicholson and Camille Griffiths will have to figure prominently for St Andrew to slow down Alpha, determined to make a mark in this season’s competition.
Meanwhile Papine girls, led by Samantha Jones, Imani Richards, and Chakira Airey, and Omberta Gordon, lead Girls Zone B with seven points, three ahead of Excelsior, followed by The Queen’s, two points, and Wolmer’s, no point.
In Boys School League, Excelsior, Munro College, and Tivoli Gardens are locked on seven points in Zone A, with Excelsior playing four matches, and Munro and Tivoli playing three matches. Wolmer’s Boys’ are on one point and St Andrew Technical still to earn a point.
In Zone B Boys, Mona and Papine are also on top with seven points, with Kingston College on three, while Jamaica College and Campion College are on one point each.
St Hugh’s will take on Mona girls at 2:00 pm tomorrow, then St Andrew meet Alpha at 3:00 pm, Campion take on Papine in boys action at 4:00 pm.
