H’View, Tivoli score wins in JFF U-21 League
Champions Harbour View and former winners Tivoli Gardens are neck-and-neck going into next weekend’s final round of matches in the JFF Under-21 League.
Both teams scored convincing victories in their penultimate games on Friday. Tivoli trashed Rivoli United 5-0 and Harbour View spanked Village United 2-0.
At Harbour View, Donovan Edwards and Andrew Phang netted for the host to secure the three points.
At the Edward Seaga Complex, the competition’s leading scorer, Michael Spence netted a brace to bring his tally for the season to 30.
Dane Kelly, Jeffrey Grant and Jemar Dawkins were the other scorers for Tivoli.
The results left the teams tied on 72 points, with only one set of games left to be played. However, Harbour View hold the advantage with a goal average that is six strikes better than their opponents.
In other games, Waterhouse slammed August Town 6-1, Portmore United demolished St Georges 8-0, Sporting Central outscored Boys’ Town 4-3 and Humble Lion and Arnett Gardens drew 1-1.
Meanwhile, Waterhouse kept themselves in the hunt after Andre Clennon bagged a hat-trick to ease past August Town.
Norman Bailey, Darren Mattocks and Leroy White also got a goal apiece for Waterhouse.
At the Ferdie Neita Complex, Tremaine Stewart’s hat-trick carried host Portmore to a resounding win over St Georges.
Portmore other goals came from Trevol Smith, Jarmar Jackson, Ricardo Smith, Andrew Vanzie and an own goal.
At Brancourt, Jamoli Powell netted two goals and Francois Swaby, Chevalo Whyte and Peter Brown one each as Sporting Central Academy turned back Boys’ Town by the odd goal in seven.
Kemar Watson, Nico Hall and Shawn Allen were the scorers for Boys’ Town.
At Effortville, Nicholas Anderson’s strike for Arnett Gardens cancelled out Peter Brown’s goal for Humble Lions.
