All systems go for Appleton May Daze at Ranny WIlliams Centre
For the third year in a row, party-goers will find themselves with only one way to get through the month of May. The hugely successful party series, Appleton May Daze, returns for five Fridays in 2010 with a new theme and a new home — the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre in Kingston.
With the return of the popular weekly event comes the creativity that the organisers have become known for.
Promoters Dwayne Harris and Stephen Willie both say that while they’ve changed the venue for May Daze, the vision and formula with which they started in 2008 will remain the same — fun, frolic and fantasy.
“When we launched three years ago, we knew that the concept and formula that Stephen and I developed would have worked, but for our third year, we have to try to outdo the previous years, so this May we’re taking Appleton May Daze to the movies,” said a beaming Harris.
“May Daze is an event that we have seen grow and an event that we have grown with, and we are very proud to be a part of the event for the third successive year,” says brand manager, David Walton. “The best of Appleton is always represented at the event, and this year we promise even better” he continued.
The event will take place every Friday in May, and is a welcomed break from the monotony usually characteristic of the month. Willie says since the two have launched the event, “May has become one of the biggest party months in Jamaica.”
Something special this year is that the event will extend to what the two-party minds are calling “May 35th”.
“There are only four Fridays in May this year, and our patrons have been used to five nights of frolic and fun. Why should the calendar stop us? So we’re renaming June 4th and calling it May 35th, which will be the grande finale of Appleton May Daze 2010,” Harris said.
The promoters are encouraging patrons to place orders for the Appleton May Daze VIP Access Card, which is a one-time cost that includes weekly access for the card-holder and a guest, VIP parking, complimentary drinks on entry and discounts at Appleton May Daze partner stores in Kingston and Portmore. The cards will cost $4,000, while entry to the event on a weekly basis will be $800 with ladies entering free before 11:00 pm each night.
“Most promoters talk about value for money, or the new phrase is ‘recession proof price’. You can’t get a better deal than what we’re providing, and everyone who has ever been to a May Daze knows that they get more than what they pay for…we provide a party experience that defines value for money,” says Harris.
