Cavalier capture KSAFA U-17 football title
CAVALIER Football club captured the Claro/KSAFA Under-17 Champions League title after scoring a 2-0 win over Arnett Gardens in the final at Winchester Park on Friday.
Michealos Martin opened the scoring for the winners late in the second-half, before Chevone Marsh added the second goal and final goal a minutes later to seal the win.
Cavalier’s Coach Lamar Morgan said it was a hard-fought game for his team: “Arnett Gardens stood out, but they lacked concentration throughout the game… We played in patches, but we did enough to come out on top at the end of the day,” he said.
After a goalless first half in which both teams had their chances at goal, Cavalier took the advantage after 77 minutes when Martin broke loose onto a pass from midfield and calmly slotted past the Arnett Gardens custodian for a 1-0 lead.
A minutes later they added another to their tally when Marsh latched onto a cross inside the area and directed a firm header into the net to put the game out of the reach of Arnett Gardens.
